Cij (IsotropicRank4TensorCij) — Explicit representation in terms of tensor components.

Synopsis

IsotropicRank4TensorCij(c11, c12)

Details

Description

IsotropicRank4TensorCij is a rank 4 tensor with isotropic symmetry. It is parametrized by its two independent components, c11 and c12.

The dialog box for setting the value of the tensor is shown in Figure 6.88. Although the tensor only has two independent components, there are three different numbers that can be changed in the dialog: C11, C12, and C44. Changing any of them will update the others. If C11 or C12 is changed, a new C44 will be computed when the user hits return or clicks elsewhere. If C44 is changed, C12 will be recomputed.
