OOF2: The Manual

Name

Mechanical:Viscosity:Isotropic — Isotropic linear viscosity.

Details

Description

Isotropic viscoelasticity is similar to isotropic elasticity, except that the modulus multiplies the first time derivative of the strain instead of the strain (6.2) itself. It makes a contribution of

gijklϵ˙kl
(6.53)

to the Stress, where

ϵ˙ij=12(u˙ixj+u˙jxi),
(6.54)

is the strain rate and u˙ is the time derivative of the Displacement field.
