The Message Window
This is where all messages from OOF appear. These include all the
executed commands, error messages, and output from various
calculations. The Message Window shows up only after there is
something to display, so it may not appear when OOF starts up. If
needed, there are Scroll Bars along the right and bottom edges.
The Close button makes the window go away--it will reappear
when the next message is written. The Clear button removes all
messages in the window. The Save button writes the contents of
the window to a file (but see Section 3.12 for a better way
to create a log of your OOF session). The Font pop-up menu and
Size control allow you to change the appearance of the text.
The color of the text in the Message Window indicates the type of message. Blue commands indicate what function is being executed. Black data is the output from the commands, while brown information is output that is incidental to the action of the command. For example, the command /output/energy prints the energy in black, but /equilibrate prints the equilibration time and convergence in brown. Error messages are red, naturally.
