Image Gallery Dashboard -- Store and retrieve images

Synopsis

The Image Gallery dashboard allows the user to switch back and forth among multiple images. The images can be read in from a ppm file or created with the Modify Image dashboard. The currently displayed image can be stored in the Gallery. Any stored image, displayed or not, can be saved to a file.

Mouse clicks on the image have no effect in this dashboard.

Dashboard Components

Stored Images

The names of all the images that have been stored are listed in the text area. Each name is selectable with the mouse--the selected image in the list becomes highlighted. Double clicking on an image name will display the image.[23]

Image selected in list

These functions operate on the images stored in the gallery list.

View

View the highlighted stored image. Equivalent to hitting a carriage return with the mouse in the dashboard.

Delete

Delete the highlighted image from the list.

Save

Save the currently highlighted image to disk as a .ppm file. The whole image will be saved, at the original resolution. Don't confuse this button with the Save button below each dashboard, which saves the currently visible section of the currently displayed image with the currently displayed resolution.

Currently displayed image

These functions act on the currently displayed image.

Add to list

Brings up a widget that prompts you for a name. The current image will be stored in the image list under the specified name.

Save

Save the currently displayed image to disk as a .ppm file. The entire image will be saved, at the original resolution. Again, don't confuse this button with the Save button below each dashboard, which saves the currently visible section of the currently displayed image with the currently displayed resolution.

[23] For some reason, this list is temperamental, and double clicks sometimes don't work. You can use the View button instead.
