Element4 — 4 cornered finite elements.

Description

Various kinds of 4 cornered finite elements. Different types have different numbers of function and mapping nodes. Figure 6.123 shows their geometries.

Values

  • Q4_4: Isoparametric 4 noded quadrilateral with bilinear interpolation for both positions and fields.
  • Q4_8: Subparametric 8 noded quadrilateral with bilinear interpolation for positions and quadratic interpolation for fields.
  • Q8_8: Isoparametric 8 noded quadrilateral with quadratic interpolation for both positions and fields.
  • Q9_9: Isoparametric 9 noded quadrilateral with quadratic interpolation for both positions and fields.
