Phase field modeling is a continuum method that in 20 short years has gone from an interesting idea to one of the most widely used methods to describe microstructure evolution. The Phase Ordering Modeling Tools working group attempts to develop physical, thermodynamically based, models of microstructure, and implement the solution to these models using the best available numerical techniques. The working group developing its own hybrid code for dissemination, and will post it here when it has matured to the appropriate level. Click on the links to the left for more information on the power of the phase field method.
