Dear OOF Users --

A new version of OOF2, 2.4.0, is now available on the OOF2 website:

   https://www.ctcms.nist.gov/oof/oof2

OOF2 2.4.0 includes a lot of changes, which are summarized at

More details are listed in SRC/changelog.txt in the source file
distribution.

A major change is that OOF2 now uses numpy, scikit-image, and
matplotlib instead of ImageMagick for image operations.  This makes it
easier to add new image tools.

The new version of OOF2 requires a new version of OOFCanvas, 1.2.0,
which is available at 

   https://www.ctcms.nist.gov/oof/oofcanvas

Macintosh users who have MacPorts installed can install OOF2 and
OOFCanvas simply by typing

   sudo port install oof2

in a terminal window.  Other users should consult the installation
instructions on the web pages.
   
Both OOF2 and OOFCanvas now require Python 3.10 or later, and require
a C++17 compatible compiler.

especially like to hear about how you're using OOF2 and OOF3D now, and
how you'd like to use them in the future.
