Dear OOF Users -- The OOF developers at NIST are proud to announce the first version of OOF3D. OOF3D performs three dimensional finite element calculations of material microstructures, using meshes formed from three dimensional micrographs. To be consistent with the numbering system used for OOF2, which began with 2.0.0, this first version of OOF3D is called "OOF3D 3.0.0". It can be downloaded from http://www.ctcms.nist.gov/oof/oof3d/ That web site includes installation instructions and a description of the differences between OOF3D and OOF2. Please download the program, try it out, and let us know if you encounter any problems. Send general questions, suggestions, and requests to oof_manager@nist.gov, and bug reports to oof_bugs@nist.gov. Please use the new OOF3D bug reporting tool if possible. It will help you to assemble all of the relevant information into a file which you can send to us. Sincerely, The OOF Developers Steve Langer Andrew Reid Gunay Dogan Yannick Congo
