Dear OOF Users: A new version of OOF2, 2.0.5a10, is now available at the OOF website, http://www.ctcms.nist.gov/oof/oof2/index.html#download This release fixes a serious bug that could produce incorrect results for the out-of-plane components of strain in a plane-stress problem. Properties that coupled to the out-of-plane strain were also affected. If you used OOF2 with plane-stress elasticity, you should recheck your results with the new version. We apologize for the inconvenience. 2.0.5a10 also includes a few less dramatic bug fixes. If you aren't using plane-stress elasticity, it shouldn't be necessary to upgrade from 2.0.5a9. As before, we're calling 2.0.5.a10 an "alpha" release only because it (still!) includes some incomplete features related to interfacial physics. We encourage all users of versions earlier than 2.0.5a9 to upgrade to 2.0.5a10. On a happier note, OOF2 version 2.1 is nearly ready. It can solve nonlinear, time-dependent problems, including large-strain elasticity, and includes a large number of other enhancements. We'll announce it on this e-mail list when it's available. Sincerely, The OOF Developers Andrew Reid Valerie Coffman Gunay Dogan Steve Langer
