Dear everyone, We are very pleased to announce that the latest non-alpha version of OOF2, version 2.0.4, is now available on nanoHUB. OOF2 can be launched directly from your web browser by going to https://www.nanohub.org/ or https://www.nanohub.org/tools/oof2/ You can have direct, free access to this instance of OOF2 by creating a FREE account in the nanoHUB, an NSF-funded resource. The mission of the nanoHUB is to provide free web-based resources for research, education and collaborations in nanotechnology. The advantage of using OOF2 on nanoHUB is that you do not need to install it yourself. The disadvantages are that you have to use it over the network, you cannot modify or extend the code, and some features have been disabled for security reasons. In particular, script loading, text mode, and the console window are not available on the web version. Nevertheless, the performance of the web-enabled installation is outstanding. There is no limit on the number of users that can run OOF2 simultaneously, the remote connection is limited by the quality of your local bandwidth, and the RAM available to perform a simulation spans somewhere between three to eight gigabytes. For those of you whose interest lies on downloading OOF2 to run it locally, modify it, extend it, and customize it for their specific application, OOF2 can be found in the usual place, http://www.ctcms.nist.gov/oof/. We very much hope you enjoy it, and find it useful. Sincerely, The OOF Team
