OOF Newsletter #16 (March 2006) Dear OOF Users: OOF2 2.0 beta 8 is now available for download from http://www.ctcms.nist.gov/oof/oof2.html Beta 8 includes a few new features and many bug fixes. Many crucial operations are also two or three times faster. For more information, see the change log at http://www.ctcms.nist.gov/oof/oof2changes.html If you're upgrading to beta 8 from an beta 6 or earlier, you should delete the oofcppcmodule.so library that was installed by the earlier version. It's not used in beta 8, and won't be overwritten or erased when beta 8 is installed. Please let us know if you have any difficulties installing or using OOF2 by sending e-mail to oof_bugs@lurch.nist.gov. We hope that this will be the last beta release of OOF2 2.0. We do not expect to add any more features to 2.0. We will release the final version of 2.0 after more testing is complete. Version 2.1, which will include plasticity and parallel computation, is already under development. Thank you, The OOF team Steve Langer Andrew Reid Seung-Ill Haan Edwin Garcia Rhonald Lua
