OOF Newsletter #14 (February 2006) Dear Colleagues: OOF2 version 2.0 beta 7 is now available for download at http://www.ctcms.nist.gov/oof/oof2.html Beta 7 incorporates a lot of new features and bug fixes. Notable new features include: * Skeletons and Meshes can now be saved in Abaqus format. * Images can be saved as PDF files. Postscript output is no longer supported. * A test suite is provided. * The manual describes how to create and use your own OOF2 material properties. Examples are provided. * The OOF2 compilation process has been changed so that extensions can be built without modifying the OOF2 code. The only way to build OOF2 now is to use the setup.py script -- the old "configure and make" scheme is no longer available. For more information, see the change log at http://www.ctcms.nist.gov/oof/oof2changes.html If you're upgrading to beta 7 from an earlier version of OOF2, you can delete the oofcppcmodule.so library that was installed by the earlier version. It's not used in beta 7, and won't be overwritten or erased when beta 7 is installed. Please let us know if you have any difficulties installing or using OOF2 by sending e-mail to oof_bugs@lurch.nist.gov. This version is a candidate for the final 2.0 release. Thank you, The OOF team Steve Langer Andrew Reid Seung-Ill Haan Edwin Garcia Rhonald Lua
