hexagonal

A material with hexagonal symmetry has 5 independent elastic constants and 2 independent coefficients of thermal expansion. See figure 4.2.

Parameters

orientation
If unrotated (orientation= 0), a hexagonal element is isotropic in the $xy$ plane (the plane of the screen), with the crystalline $c$-axis in the $z$ direction (out of the screen). See Section 4.3. [degrees]

thermoelastic coefficients
The components of the stiffness matrix are c11, c12, c13, c33, and c44. The two independent coefficients of thermal expansion are alpha11 and alpha33.
