Synopsis
This variable determines when elements recompute their materials. There are two possibilities:
- automatic

Materials are recomputed when they're needed, if they've changed.
- on_demand

Materials are recomputed only when the /adaptive_mesh/materials/transfer command is executed explicitly.
Default: automatic
